Today was a relatively easy hike with lots of dirt paths through fields and forests. Tomorrow is considered by many to be our hardest stage. It should be epic and exhausting. (Don’t tell Scott, he thinks it’s a flat stage.)
So far, we have lucked out on the weather. It’s been cloudy at times, but the rain has held off until the evening. We expect sunny skies tomorrow.
Q: Have you met any pilgrims?
Yes, but not many. We’ve met Joseph from France, then four other people all from western Canada, Anna from British Columbia, Lilianna from Vancouver Island, and Chris & Shannon from Calgary.
Everyone we’ve met has done the Camino Santiago before. It seems like people start there, then get the pilgrimage bug, and move onto other less frequented routes like this one.
On another important topic… There is a laundromat across the street from our hotel! Heaven.

Today’s data:
Starting Temp: 58
Ending Temp: 68

A laundromat. God does provide.
Preach it, sister!!!
I believe we stayed in Martigny when hiking the Haute Route 2 years
ago. Our hotel room had the train right outside the window. Kind of
noisy all night. Are you heading toward Zermatt?
Peg
No Zermatt, too far, unfortunately. Heading over the pass to Italy.
I saw a Mont Blanc Express train. That’s probably what you took.
The Mont Blanc express leaves out of Montreux up to Chamonix. That is an
awesome awesome train ride. (did it 2 years in a row. The train in
Martigny ran thru the valley. You are in beautiful country. Good Luck
tomorrow. And Scott, is he serious about the European breakfasts? He’s
missing the best part of the day. I do agree with him, set the miles,
don’t get lost-and add more. Especially if a climb is needed.
Stay safe!
As always, loving your photos and following along! Wishing you health, great weather and beautiful trails… and more fun, self-service fridges and laundry 😉 (Darcy)
Beautiful mountain and waterfall photos today. I’ve been Binge Blogging tonight to catch up. I know that is not your preferred way for us to follow you. I’ve been a little busy because I am home alone with the dog because my wife is away traveling with my sister.
Who do they think they are going on a fun adventure without their husbands?
Beautiful!
