Yesterday wore us out. As a result, there were a lot of sore feet and legs today. Even so, we had a wonderful time on our last day walking together.
Tomorrow, most of the gang heads back to the USA, and I’ll take a much needed rest day.
On Wednesday, I’ll continue onto Rome by myself. I’ll miss my pilgrim family.
I should complete my pilgrimage in Rome in 10 days.
The view of Monteriggioni as we left this morning. We all loved this beautiful village. If you’re ever in Tuscany, check it out. Peter walking ahead. Despite a hip injury, he did great walking the entire week. A fun pilgrim stop. The trail isn’t as busy as the Camino in Spain, but this section of the trail does have a bunch of pilgrims. Abbey and Kyong walked together a lot the last two days. They’ve kept each other entertained. Rome is getting closerLast aperitivos. This time in Siena’s iconic Piazza del Campo. Last supper. Liliane (Arielle’s mother) joined us. They’ll be vacationing together for the next two weeks. Last gelato. I’m blessed with an amazing family. I’m so thankful they took the time to join me on this pilgrimage. Pizza with bologna and fries. Really. More pizza. We were hungry after walking. Tagliolini with truffles. This was simple but fantastic. One of my favorites. Bistecca alla Fiorentina

thank you so much for all the yummy food pictures. We loved Siena. Fond memories. I’m sure you’ll miss your family, but how wonderful they could be there. 10 days on foot to Roma? Amazing
