Day 12 – Navarrete / Zaragoza

Today, Ann, Carol and I walked for six miles together then I went to the Logroño bus station, and they continued on the Camino.

They ended in the town of Navarrete where they have pleasant hotel rooms with fans (a real treat on the Camino). I took a bus to Zaragoza where I’ll spend the night before going to Madrid.

We agreed that this trip created lifetime memories for us all. I’m happy they can continue on their own for a few days.

If I get more info from them, I’ll keep you updated on their progress.

Dinner last night in Viana. The church is right behind us and Ann went to mass and really enjoyed it.
Our friends Chuck and Chris. We met the in Borda about a week ago and have spent a lot of time with them since. They live in Minnesota in a small town near the Canadian border.
Carol and Ann heading off on their own. Will we ever see them again?
Ann and Carol on their own on the Camino. Shouldn’t they miss me more?
It’s wine festival time in Logroño which may explain the red fountain.
Navarrete
Zaragoza’s main plaza and the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. This is one of the biggest plazas/piazzas/squares that I’ve seen in any European city. Really cool.

  1. Glad you’ve had a great experience with your sisters! Have a great time on phase two of your trip with Shirley.

Side note: We finally got access to Apple TV and are loving Ted Lasso. It’s totally a Bill show.
