Day 32 – Vilanova de Arousa

It was an absolutely amazing day. It started with a long walk through a lush mossy forest along a beautiful river. It finished along the beach.

Our friend from our last Camino, who owns a home near here, told us this would be a fantastic day of hiking. She was right. I think we set a record for photo stops.

We walked together for about two thirds of the day, then I went solo for the last couple of hours.

The Upcoming Days

We have only 2 days of walking left. We’ll be in Santiago on Monday. This Camino has gone really fast, although Lisbon seems like a lifetime ago.

Tomorrow, will be interesting, because we will take a traditional pilgrim boat up the shore for 1.5 hours. More on that tomorrow.

I’ll be in Santiago for 3 nights so I can see some sites in the area, so expect blog posts until the end of the week.

Two minutes of some of the great sites and sounds of today.

  1. I can’t believe the size of those grape vines. Beautiful lush pictures!

Can you explain about the use of walking poles? Do you me use them?

  2. Great photos. Good memories for me. I also think about the Via Podiensis where I walked 7 years ago for the first time ( September 2017) and then the whole distance ( 800km) in May/June 2019.
