Day 13 – Ivrea/Turin

Today we had everything: ups, downs, vineyards, towns, churches and stunning views. Nice way to finish for Scott.

Once we reached our finishing town of Ivrea, we caught a train to Turin. We’ll both be here tonight then we’ll head our separate ways, me to more walking down south, and Scott to Michigan.

Today was the last day we will see the friends we made on the trail. Photos of some of them below.

Andy from Florida.
John and Jeanine from Australia.
Chris and Shannon from Canada. Our new lifetime friends.
Henri from Switzerland. He’s 81 and walking all the way Rome. (Didn’t see him today. Only image I have of him is this one from a video.)
Joseph from France. We saw him every day of our walk. He’s 70 and walking all the way to Rome. (Forgot to take his photo today, this is from earlier in the walk.)
Looking back toward Port-Saint-Martin
Walking through the village of Airale
The village of Cesnola
Marco (sorry it’s blurry). He runs a beer garden and food truck in the village of Borgofranco d’Ivrea. He is one of the nicest people we met on our two-week journey. He gave us snacks then toured us through his wine cellar. This man is genuinely joyful. We all should be more like Marco.
Sights and sounds from today.

  1. Bill, I love your videos, which give all of us the chance to walk along with you for a bit each day. Thanks for including us. Enjoy the rest of your Camino in good health!
