16 miles. Expected high of 94, so I left at 6:00am. Arrived about 12:30pm and it was 88, so I missed most of the heat.
The landscape continues to be vineyards and corn. Some rolling hills and forests but nothing stunning like early on in the hike. The most interesting thing is the Pyrenees mountains. They’re growing each day.
Bill, are the rivers low where you are like other parts of France?
Definitely. Usually, there is a stage of the hike that you can kayak instead of hike. Not this year, the Kayak services are closed up or you can only go part way. A couple photos below showing examples of low water.

Enjoying your journey! Be safe.
Looks fantastic as usual! Are there more folks hiking earlier with the temps being so high, or are you finding the trail empty aside from yourself? Feels like you got the right plan of an early start, get to town to rest, and then do some sightseeing in your home base for the day.
This part of journey definitely has fewer hikers. Probably because its not as beautiful and many French are back to work (August is vacation month for them). And yes, getting to the town before 2 works perfectly. Time to rest and explore.
Whew! For a moment I thought that pilgrim statue was YOU! I’m glad you are doing great. Stay away from those Crocs.
